Discipleship Pastor
Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000
Position Summary Movement Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually mature Discipleship Pastor to lead the development and implementation of a clear, intentional pathway that helps people grow in their faith from casual spectators to fully committed followers of Jesus Christ. This role will champion spiritual formation, leadership development, and prayer ministry while equipping individuals and small groups to live out the mission of the church.
Key Responsibilities Discipleship Strategy & Spiritual Formation
• Develop and oversee a comprehensive discipleship pathway that guides individuals from initial interest in faith to mature, active discipleship.
• Create systems that help people take next steps in their spiritual growth.
• Provide pastoral care and spiritual coaching to individuals at various stages of faith.
Teaching & Training
• Regularly teach Bible studies and discipleship classes for adults.
• Design and implement a leadership development course to equip and mentor emerging leaders.
• Train and resource small group leaders to effectively disciple others.
Prayer Ministry
• Establish and lead a vibrant, church-wide prayer ministry.
• Recruit, train, and oversee prayer team volunteers.
• Integrate prayer into the discipleship process and church culture.
Assimilation & Follow-Up
• Develop a consistent follow-up process for individuals who make decisions to follow Jesus.
• Provide spiritual guidance and next-step pathways for new believers.
Ordinances & Milestones
• Oversee and coordinate water baptisms, baby blessings, and other key spiritual milestones.
• Ensure these experiences are meaningful, well-organized, and aligned with church vision.
Small Groups Leadership
• Provide vision, structure, and oversight for the church’s small group ministry.
• Recruit, train, and support group leaders.
• Ensure small groups are central to discipleship and community building.
Qualifications
• A growing, vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Strong alignment with the mission, values, and theology of Movement Church.
• Experience in discipleship, teaching, leadership development, or pastoral ministry.
• Strong organisational, relational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build teams and develop leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of ministry experience in a church or ministry setting.
• Formal theological or ministry training beyond a bachelor’s degree is an asset.
• Experience leading small groups and prayer ministries.

• A structured and sustainable follow-up system is in place for new believers.
• A healthy, active prayer ministry is launched and supported by trained volunteers.
• Leadership training cohorts are running and developing new leaders within the church.
• Baptisms, baby blessings, and discipleship milestones are organized, meaningful, and well attended.
• Clear systems, teams, and leaders are in place to sustain and grow the discipleship culture.

Temporary Kids Ministry Director
4 Month Contract, 36 hours per week, $25/hour
Position Summary
Movement Church is seeking a temporary Kids Ministry Director to provide leadership and oversight of our Kids Ministry while our Kids Pastor recovers from surgery. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ministry, ensuring that children, families, volunteers, and staff experience a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate is highly organised, relational, solution-oriented, and passionate about helping children discover Jesus in age-appropriate and engaging ways.
Key Responsibilities
Ministry Leadership
Provide overall leadership and oversight of Movement Kids Ministry.
Ensure all Sunday Kids Ministry environments are prepared, staffed, and running smoothly.
Maintain ministry standards, procedures, and safety protocols.
Serve as the primary point of contact for Kids Ministry during the contract period.
Work closely with church staff to ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Movement Church.
Volunteer Team Management
Schedule and coordinate Kids Ministry volunteers.
Recruit and onboard new volunteers as needed.
Troubleshoot volunteer scheduling conflicts and last-minute absences.
Encourage, support, and communicate regularly with team members.
Ensure volunteer teams are equipped and prepared to serve effectively.
Parent & Family Communication
Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding Kids Ministry questions, concerns, and feedback.
Build positive relationships with families and provide excellent customer service.
Communicate important ministry updates and information to parents.
Assist families in navigating Kids Ministry programs, policies, and procedures.
Summer Camp Oversight
Provide leadership for three weeks of summer camp programming.
Supervise and support summer students and camp volunteers.
Ensure camp activities, supplies, safety procedures, and schedules are effectively managed.
Create a positive and engaging environment for campers and volunteers.
Coordinate with church staff and ministry leaders to ensure camp success.
Safety & Compliance
Oversee and maintain all Plan to Protect policies and procedures within Kids Ministry.
Ensure volunteers have current and approved Police Vulnerable Sector Checks and required documentation on file.
Monitor classroom ratios and room capacities to ensure compliance with church safety standards and child protection policies.
Ensure all team members understand and follow established safety, security, and check-in/check-out procedures.
Address and report any safety concerns, incidents, or policy violations in a timely and appropriate manner.
Administration
Manage ministry planning and scheduling systems.
Coordinate classroom staffing and weekly ministry needs.
Communicate effectively with church staff regarding ministry operations.
Assist with ordering and organising supplies as needed.
Maintain accurate records related to volunteers, attendance, safety compliance, and ministry activities.
Qualifications
Strong organisational and administrative skills.
Proven leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently.
Experience working with children and volunteers is preferred.
Must align with the mission, vision, and values of Movement Church.
Ability to obtain or maintain a current Vulnerable Sector Check.
Schedule Expectations
This position is scheduled for 36 hours per week, typically Tuesday through Friday and Sundays.
During summer camp weeks, hours will increase to accommodate camp programming, generally requiring availability from approximately 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Specific scheduling arrangements during camp weeks can be discussed with the successful candidate.
